Dubai Knowledge Village launches 'DKV Experts Channel' and 'DKV Events' at GETEX 2008

As part of its mission to grow as a vital centre of learning and excellence, Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV), a member of TECOM Investments, today launched 'DKV Experts Channel', a quarterly bulletin inviting contributions from business partners to highlight industry best practices, and 'DKV Events', a platform for enhancing the professional development of all segments of the public for no fee.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) 2008, the Middle East's leading education fair, being held from 2-5 April at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Currently in its 20th edition, the event is organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, and is supported by Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV) and Dubai International Academic City (DIAC).

Dr. Ayoub Kazim, Executive Director of Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City, said: "Dubai Knowledge Village is pleased to be a part of this year's GETEX, an important channel that provides latest updates on industry developments worldwide. Participation in top-notch events also gives us sectoral feedback on best ways to guide the region towards becoming a full-fledged knowledge-based economy.

"The two initiatives - 'DKV Experts Channel' and 'DKV Events' - are in line with our mission to provide a suitable platform facilitating the development of a highly competent knowledge community."

Hasan Makansi, Head of Partner Development of DKV, said: "Through these two initiatives, Dubai Knowledge Village seeks to provide effective channels for knowledge transfer, sharing of best practices, discussing business issues, recommending new business concepts and empowering human capital. DKV Events aims to develop the current and future workforce through organizing seminars and workshops covering all industries. The development programmes, hosted in partnership with DKV's business partners, will address varied target audiences from pregnant mothers and teachers to students and senior executives.

"The concept is unique as our workshops will encompass specific categories. From unlocking the potential of children even before they are born, it will also include teachers as a vital block in building the workforce of the future. DKV Events will bring in students to prepare them for their shift from a learning environment to a professional workplace culture. Finally, it will tap into the current workforce from employees to executives for developing their skills," added Makansi

A quarterly bulletin, the DKV Experts Channel will establish a link between business partners based in Dubai Knowledge Village and the public through content intensive interactions to help companies enhance their commercial operations.
