Presented by the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, the Dubai International Advertising Festival incorporates the Dubai Lynx Awards - the Middle East and North Africa Advertising Awards for Creative Excellence. Mr Ghossoub received the award from Mr Terry Savage, Chairman, Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, in Dubai.

Receiving the Award, Mr Ghossoub urged the communications industry in the region to think of new ways to meet the challenges of the shifting socio-economic realities. "Ours is an industry in constant transition and the pace of change is gaining momentum with every year," he said.

"This can seem daunting at times, especially now that technology has such an impact on how we work, live and play. But constant change - through a concerted communications strategy - is the only buffer to meet the fast-changing social and economic environment," explained Mr Ghossoub.

The current financial volatilities have also redrawn the communications equation, with the Middle East region taking precedence in the global media. "These changes have an impact on every aspect of doing business. How we address these changes and move markets to grow business is the challenge before the communications industry today."

One of the most prominent spokespersons of the Middle East communications industry, Mr Ghossoub dedicated his award to the 'abundance of energy, enthusiasm and creativity of the young talent' in the industry.'

The Dubai Lynx Awards represent the progress made by the sector in the region," he said. "We have matured and flourished but what is especially encouraging is the growing number of young talent that our industry attracts. They will be the drivers of the innovation in the industry."

Presently, Chairman and World President of the International Advertising Association, Mr Ghossoub's leadership has shaped THG as one of the most successful Middle East communications groups with offices throughout the Arabian Gulf, the Levant, North Africa and beyond. THG is the parent company of Team/Young & Rubicam, Intermarkets Advertising, ASDA'A public relations, mediaedge:cia and Wunderman.

The Advertising Person of the Year Award honours communications industry thought-leaders, who by their efforts, energy and dedication, have lifted the presence and profile of the region within the international advertising, marketing and communications community.
