It was a real grand finale with the announcement of numerous prizes for their viewers, in association with the Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO) and LG Electronics.

To celebrate the success of the show, to applaud the winners, to preview new shows and to celebrate the great business relationship with KNTO and LG, City 7 TV hosted a cocktail party attended by the who's who of Dubai, at Le Meridian, Dubai.

Present for the occasion were Ron Kapadia, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of City7 TV, Kim Baeho, Regional Director of KNTO, Dubai, and K W Kim, CEO, LG Electronics, Middle East & Africa Regional Company.

They were joined by top officials from their respective companies, delegates, diplomats, corporate head honchos and the lucky winners who took home great prizes like LCD TVs, DVD players, mobile phones, car audio systems, microwaves and even four holiday packages for an all-expenses-paid trip to the gorgeous East Asian republic of Korea.

"Korea sparkling on City7TV received a tremendous response from our viewers across the entire footprint of Nilesat101 which extends across the entire MENA region and beyond," said Kapadia. "Our Contest Korea Sparkling run on City7TV has drawn participation form a majority of these countries with a large number of winners coming from the UAE, Jordan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and even Yemen. Such a great viewership and the beautiful showcase of Korea has raked up a lot of interest from tourism organisations of various countries who would also like to showcase the exciting opportunities in their respective countries to the viewers in the MENA region and especially the UAE, which is one of the world's fastest growing economies.

City7 TV's vision of 'taking the UAE to the world & bringing the world to the UAE' is gradually coming to realisation," commented Kapadia.

Korea Sparkling has truly been a must-watch for all travel enthusiasts.

The weekly programme presented by Natalie Carney, a journalist and a great travel enthusiast herself, took viewers on a journey to Korea through first-hand experience of the country's cultures, traditions, cuisine and people.

From tasting the best Khimchi to trying taekwondo, using knives as musical instruments to even witnessing the technological advances of Korea; it was an entertaining and educating experience.

"No one has showcased Korea any better than City7 TV has in the UAE," said Baeho. "This is primarily because the travel documentary was very well-tailored to meet the requirements of the UAE traveller. The show was made with a local perspective and effectively marketed to showcase Korea's new tourism brand identity, KOREA SPARKLING. This was a great result from the successful partnership between KNTO and City7 TV," said Baeho.

City7 TV always promises their clients the best and most effective marketing strategy on their channel.

The team works on the agenda to always offer the utmost to their sponsors and partners. It was with this effect in mind that City7 TV associated with Korean electronic giants, LG Electronics, for this show as well.

"LG is proud of its roots and heritage. Through this programme we wanted to be a part in creating awareness about the wonderful culture, people and places of our native country, Korea," said Mr. Kim. "I believe that this programme also illustrates the headways LG has made in technology and how LG has become the true global leader in the field of technology. We thank City 7 TV for this initiative and it is a pleasure for LG Electronics to be part of this programme," opined Kim.

Even as the successful Korea Sparkling episodes wrap up, City 7 TV continues to bring the best of travel, music, style and other infotainment shows.

"The culmination of this very popular 13-part travelogue has instilled in us a greater degree of confidence in our ability to successfully produce a show of international standards," said Kapadia. "In addition to more than 10 shows already on air, we are producing many more such shows showcasing local reality programmes and travelogues on international destinations. We are also focussing on production of a local travelogue which showcases the hitherto unknown destinations within the UAE. We want to take these destinations to the world through the powerful medium of television and new media. We see this as a service to the land we live in," emphasised Ron Kapadia.
