Two cruise ships arrive at Dubai with 2736 passengers

The Dubai Cruise Terminal in Port Rashid Complex on received two cruise ships namely Seven Seas Voyage and Queen Victoria carrying a total of 2736 passengers including crew members.

The cruise terminal also bid farewell to Costa Europa and Costa Romantica which docked at Dubai Terminal on December 21 and operated regional shuttle cruises up to March 30.

Queen Victoria with 2014 passengers including 900 crew members is a 12 storey luxury ship that arrived at Dubai terminal on March 31 whereas Seven Seas arrived on March 30 carrying 722 passengers.

The cruise that docks in Dubai, leaves the passengers here to exchange with others as most of them make one way through air.

The passengers and crew members were accorded a traditional Arabian welcome at the state-of-the-art terminal, operated by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).

During the current cruise season 2007-08, DTCM expecting more than 200 hundred thousand passengers to land in Dubai.

A total of 32 hundred thousand passengers arrived through cruise last year while in 2005-06 the number was 23 hundred thousand.

Dubai Cruise terminal will receive many ships this season from April 8 to May 12, 2008 including Silver Whisper, Columbus, Pacific Venus, Europa, Asuka, Seabourn Spirit and Crystal Symphony.

The ship-shaped cruise terminal measures 3300 square meters and is able to accommodate two ships simultaneously on a 335-metre quay.
