As main sponsors of the event, Dubai Industrial City, the third largest non-real estate project in Dubai, led by Rashed Al Ansari, its Chief Executive Officer, will focus on the importance of waste recycling facilities based on an earlier agreement Dubai Industrial City signed with Kuwait-based National Projects Holding Co. to establish Dubai Recycling Park, the first fully integrated waste management facility in the Middle East.
Al Ansari said:
"Dubai Industrial City is an eco-friendly powerhouse and we are conscious of the impact industrial wastes have on the environment. As a socially responsible corporation, Dubai Industrial City's sponsorship is in line with our endeavour to support initiatives that work towards the betterment of our communities, and eventually the economy."
Maqayees, the Dubai Center for Industrial Standards, which governs and implements all QHSE requirements in collaboration with Dubai Quality Mark, will also be highlighted at the waste management event.
Al Ansari stressed that as a dedicated industrial township built on the concept of live, work and play, the management of the city was aware of the need to ensure and maintain a safe environment for all in a destination that is expected to house about 300,000 people.
"Our township sees commercial areas such as residences, shopping malls, villas, schools, hospitals and full community and entertainment and leisure services located side by side of six industrial zones, and that is why we are enforcing strict quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE) procedures and systems to ensure the preservation of the environment," he pointed out.
Kuwait Waste Management Conference and Exhibition will focus on the collection, forwarding, and storage, reprocessing and recycling of industrial, medical and residual waste.
Spread over 560 million square feet, the dedicated destination which is designed according to a viable live, work and play concept features six industrial clusters for food and beverage, base metal, mineral products, chemicals, transport equipment and parts, and machinery and mechanical equipment.
Complementary facilities for logistics, warehousing, labour accommodation, industrial training in addition to commercial, residential and entertainment zones position Dubai Industrial City as a comprehensive one stop-shop destination, providing tenants with a critical competitive advantage in the areas of human resources, logistics and business operations.
