The honor came after the Royal approval to nominate Engineer Jameel as a pioneer in the individual category award, beside the other foundation category award, through which the Ministry of Social Affairs honored the Charity Fund.

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, honored pioneers of social works in the Gulf on the individual and institutional levels. Representing Engineer Jameel, Engineer Ibrahim Abu Dawood, Managing Director of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Services Programs (ALJ Prog), received the award.

Engineer Jameel expressed thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for approving the nomination, and to HE Minister of Social Affairs for supporting the nomination. Engineer Jameel said, "Beneficiaries and employees of ALJ Prog are the drive force behind this honor. The award comes as another tribute to ALJ Prog and represents additional responsibility to upgrade, develop, and improve our programs."

Recently, Engineer Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, President of ALJ Programs, won First Class King Abdul Aziz Medal. Since establishment in 2003, ALJ Prog created more than 40,000 job opportunities, and started operating the first Bab Rizq Jameel branch in Jeddah. This month, Bab Rizq Jameel will open two more in Riyadh and Dammam as part of an ambition plan to open more branches throughout the Kingdom.

During 2007, branches of ALJ Prog created more than 22,085 job opportunities throughout the Kingdom.
