Dubai participates in a big way in GIBTM-2008

Dubai is participating in a big way in the inaugural Gulf Incentives, Business Travel and Meetings exhibition with the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing joined by 33 co-participants from its booming tourism industry to promote and market the emirate as ideal year-round Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions destination.
The first leg of the show, 2-day the Gulf Meetings and Events Conference 2008 commenced in Dubai on April 5 and the delegates of this meeting would shift to Abu Dhabi for GIBTM on Monday.
Taking place on 3950 square metre exhibition space at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), the debut event attracted over 175 International exhibitors representing the region and from the key Asian, Mediterranean and European Markets.
The GIBTM has been designed as a place to learn, gather and exchange information, create new relationships and conduct MICE business.
The event is aimed at providing a business platform in the Gulf and Middle East region for international and regional venues, hotels, destinations and suppliers to meet with meeting planners, incentive travel buyers and those involved in the meetings and incentives industry.
A total of 1168 visitors, 218 Hosted buyers representing 50 countries and regions participated in the GIBTM 2007.
