Ammar will lead all strategic HR support for HSBC UAE and will be responsible for various aspects of recruitment and Emiratisation.

Holding an MA in International and Comparative Law from the University of London, Ammar has over 20 years extensive experience in Human Resources with a number of UAE institutions especially in the Oil and Gas industry as well as both local and federal government bodies.

In addition, Ammar is well known in the local market from his teaching and writing activities.

The key focus of Ammar's role will be navigating the talent aspects of HSBC's diverse and fast growing organisation by creating the right proposition to hire and retain the very best talent in the marketplace, to push further the Bank's emiratisation drive and to ensure that HSBC is the employer of choice.

"Ammar brings a wealth of HR experience to HSBC. We have made a commitment to long-term investment in recruiting and developing the best talent in the industry in order to retain our leading position in the UAE as the employer of choice and the best place to work and some one of Ammar's caliber in the role of Human Resources Head is essential to support this," said Joel Farnworth, Regional Head of Human Resources, HSBC.
