Dubai Duty Free sales jump 31%

Dubai Duty Free has announced that its first quarter sales rose 31% to Dhs958m ($266m) over the same period last year. DDF is the largest travel retail operator in the Middle East, representing about 50% of the total duty free sales in the region. Perfumes, which account for 14% of sales at DDF, retained the top spot with sales of $37m in the first quarter, a 30% increase over the same period last year. Liquor and gold retained the second and third positions respectively with gold showing an impressive first quarter rise of 44%.
