Ahli United Bank (Egypt) explores Arab economic integration

Ahli United Bank (Egypt) is an active participant in the two-day Arab Banking Conference from 6th to 7th of April.

The Conference is taking place at the Conrad Cairo Hotel under the auspices of H.E. Dr Ahmed Nazif, Prime Minister of Egypt, in cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt, the World Union of Arab Bankers and the Association of Egypt Banks.

Under the title of 'The Role of Banks in Financing Arab Investment Projects' the conference is organized by the Union of Arab Banks.

It comes within a series of conferences organized by the Union of Arab Banks in Arab capitals to prepare for the Arab Economic Summit which is set to take place later on this year.

"With the current financial boom that is being witnessed in the region, there are enormous opportunities using from inter-regional economic cooperation and integration. This conference is an important forum to develop these themes." Mr. James Goold, CEO and Managing Director of Ahli United Bank (Egypt), who is a keynote speaker during the first day of the conference in a panel discussion which deals with the topic of cooperative investment between international and Arab markets.

The conference consists of keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops and an exhibition.

The Arab Banking Conference tackles topics such as the necessary economic environment for stimulating local and international investment, coordination between government and the private sector and boosting investment in the Arab region. A number of key government and financial sector figures from Egypt and the region are also in attendance.

The conference mainly focuses on investment projects in strategic sectors which are crucial to the economic integration of Arab countries and comes at a time when the Arab banking sector is implementing cross border expansion and strategic alliances in the region to support Arab investment.
