Grosvenor House welcomes the Roux Scholarship in Dubai

Established 25 years ago the Scholarship is widely acknowledged as the definitive UK competition for up and coming young chefs.

Past winners and some of the judging panel are visiting the Emirates as part of an educational trip, which will see them tour Dubai in addition to attending a glittering Gala Dinner in Rhodes Mezzanine. The dinner will be prepared by not one, not two, but by 13 chefs, with a total of 12 Michelin stars between them.

Commenting on the trip, Michel Roux OBE stated: "We have taken the Roux Scholars to Scotland, to Tuscany and now to Dubai. I love these trips as it gives us all a chance to relax together and exchange news and enjoy being part of the club. It is a club which, 25 years ago, I would never in my wildest dreams have imagined could be so successful. Our scholars are an extension of the Roux family and every family enjoys a celebration."

The Roux Scholarship celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and as part of the celebrations, Gary Rhodes, who has been a judge of the competition for nearly 20 years, invited fellow judges and Roux Scholars to visit the Grosvenor House and the newly launched Rhodes Mezzanine.

Attending the event will be the judging panel, as well as four Roux members, including; Gary Rhodes, Brian Turner, Heston Blumenthal, David Nicholls, Andrew Fairlie (the original Roux Scholar).

"Once a Roux Scholar, always a Roux Scholar and winning the competition is set to changes a chef's life: Not only does it put their career straight into the culinary 'fast track', but they join a club, which networks, hosts educational trips such as this, and provides career mentoring under the wings of the celebrated Roux family," concluded Roux.
