GHEDEX Muscat and its concurrent events conclude - GHEDEX Salalah to commence soon

The Gulf Higher Education Exhibition came to a close after 3 days of establishing contacts and receiving visits from potential students.

The education show combined with the vocational training and job fair held between 7th and 9th April, 2008 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre, Seeb, was organized by Oman International Trade & Exhibitions.

The show attracted a lot of students from local schools giving them an opportunity to explore the different choices available to them in the education front the world over.

This year the education show had two new pavilions also focusing on education, which are, EDUTECH - Education technology and services show and SCHOOLEX - Private, International & Boarding Schools expo.

These new events threw light on areas that have never been explored before hence bringing even more information and services to the doorstep of the people in Oman and the region.

A Seminar held parallel to JOBEX- Job Opportunities Expo was organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Manpower alongside other successful exhibitions focusing on higher education, training and schools.

The value addition seminar highlighted the importance of employing Omanis and retaining them.

These concurrent events were supported and sponsored by well known local names. Platinum and visitor bag sponsor at the GHEDEX was DAAD.

German University of Technology in Oman, Sohar University, Majan College, Ajman University of Science and Technology, Study in Holland, Arab Open University, Oman Tourism College, Study in Australia and College of Banking and Financial Studies came in as Platinum sponsors while gold sponsors were Dhofar University, Caledonian College of Engineering, Waljat Colleges of Applied Sciences and Sultan Qaboos University and Abu Dhabi University signed in as sliver sponsor.

At TRAINEX, gold sponsors were Polyglot Institute and Rusayl Institute while City & Guilds and ACCA came as silver sponsors. JOBEX brought to the fore the most coveted jobs at some of the big local companies.

Galfar Engineering & Contracting, Oman Wastewater Services Company, Oman Air and Oman International Bank came in as gold sponsors while Mohsin Haider Darwish and Bank Sohar signed in as silver sponsors.

One of the newest pavilions at the education event, EDUTECH, had MOSAIC - ETS Country Master Distributor as silver sponsor at its show.

TRAINEX and JOBEX go hand in hand since JOBEX shows the public the actual market requirements and the trends prevailing in current business and the job scenario and accordingly they can then select the vocational training that is suitable to them.

Both these events were positioned side by side in order to further improve networking opportunities.

GHEDEX Muscat ended yesterday, but re-opens in Salalah on the 12th April, 2008 going on till the 13th further bringing education, training and employment opportunities to the doorstep of people in Salalah.
