Swiss announces new director for Middle East and Africa

After a successful five-year stint with Swiss International Airlines in the Middle East and Africa, Felix Rodel is handing over the reins to Martin Massüger as the new Director, Head of Sales Middle East, Africa, Pakistan & Iran.

Mr. Massüger will be mainly responsible for administration, sales and marketing for the UAE market and is also involve in overseeing sales operations in other parts of the Middle East and Africa.

On his appointment to the region, Mr. Massüger said:

'With business booming in the UAE, my post as the new Director for Swiss is a welcome move. There is so much growth happening in the UAE and the Middle East and Africa in general and Swiss is in a position to take advantage of the exponential expansion of the economy especially in the tourism and air travel sectors. Together with our partner Lufthansa, our comprehensive network of existing destinations will see that the demand for travel to Europe will be met while keeping a strong brand and product position'.

Mr. Massüger is no stranger to the UAE as he has been working in close cooperation with UAE-based tour operators and Swiss office since 1990.

His experience will further enhance Swiss presence in the region'.

UAE is fast becoming an important business hub and Swiss, the award-winning national carrier of Switzerland offers a comprehensive network of 71 destinations in 42 countries.

Of these destinations, 43 are in Europe and 28 are intercontinental.

On a regional level, Swiss operates daily flights from Dubai and Muscat, five weekly flights from Cairo and four weekly flights from Riyadh and Jeddah.
