Aqaba Container Terminal names new CEO

Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), the sole terminal in the Kingdom, has named Mr. Jerry Rickcord as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective first of March.
Prior to joining ACT, Mr. Rickcord held the position of CEO for Asian Terminals Inc. in Manila for three years, and has previously occupied the CEO position of container firms SCT Southampton and TCS Tilbury for six years in the United Kingdom.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Rickcord expressed his delight at being considered for the role: "I am very proud to join ACT, a terminal that has witnessed a quantum leap in the levels of development and client servicing over the past few years. I am pleased to be part of this reputable company, a world-class terminal indeed and a first choice for many shipping agencies in the region.
I am looking forward to transferring the knowledge I have accumulated throughout my years of experience in order to contribute to the process of upgrading and bringing the terminal to the global level," he also added.

Aqaba Container TerminalAqaba Container Terminal Pvt Co. (ACT) is the only Jordanian container terminal. It is a major gateway for the Jordanian market, as well as for transit cargo moving to and from other countries in the region. In 2006 a 25 years JV contract was signed between Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) and APM Terminals International, agreeing that the new ACT Pvt Company will operate, manage and market ACT.
ACT is committed to providing a world class facility for its customers, and continuously looks for further enhancements and developments. This has already resulted in a number of upgrades to the facility and its equipment.
