Mohammed Bin Rashid Est. for Young Business Leaders wins prestigious Kuwait Award for Best Website

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders recently won Kuwait's most prestigious Sheikh Salem Al Ali Al Sabah Informatics Award for the 'Best Website' developed by an Arab civic society organization.

Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders received the award from H.H. Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait who honoured the winners at a gala ceremony held in Kuwait last Wednesday under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, the Emir of the State of Kuwait.

Founded in 2001, the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award aims to build a modern and integrated electronic society in the Arab world.

Setting out with recognising the contribution of individuals to the advancement of information technology in the region, the scope of the awards was eventually expanded to ministries, public and private institutions. In its seventh edition, the awards were broadened to include other Arab countries as well.

Thanking the award organizers for recognizing the Establishment's efforts in promoting entrepreneurship online, Abdul Baset Al Janahi dedicated the honour to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.

Al Janahi said: "We are delighted to receive this prestigious regional recognition, which illustrates our commitment to promoting entrepreneurship among the young, especially through employing effective interactive communication tools with our target audiences.

"Our website contains vital information that grants visitors a comprehensive insight into our services. We consider the electronic medium a valuable mechanism enabling the Establishment to connect with entrepreneurs based in remote areas of the UAE who might otherwise find it difficult to personally approach our offices to gather information".

The website offers concise information on various services provided by the Establishment, including tips on successful business planning, reasons for the failure of new projects, and basic requirements for starting up a new business.

The portal also includes samples of success stories by the Establishment's members.

Relevant information on the Government Procurement Programme (GPP) for small and medium enterprises, training courses, registration forms, finance as well as logistical support to existing and potential members, is also available on the website.

The prestigious pan-Arab award recognises contributions towards its overarching goal by individuals, development projects, electronic education, and society institutions such as sports clubs, charities and co-operations.

Related work by the media and communications, as well as the public and private sectors are also rewarded.
