General Motors steps up recruitment drive at Careers UAE 2008

General Motors (GM) is reinforcing its commitment to emiratization within the UAE's automotive sector with its participation for the third consecutive year in the Careers UAE Exhibition, to be held at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center from 15-17 April 2008.
Representatives from GM will also be present to answer questions related to their area of expertise.
Through its participation in Careers UAE Exhibition 2008, GM is looking at hiring interns, new college graduates and experienced professionals primarily in the sales, after sales, marketing and finance sectors.
"Emiratization is important to GM's recruitment strategy and we invest considerable resources in core competency training to assist young UAE nationals to develop careers within our company" said Iman Al Qasim, Human Resources Manager, GM. "GM offers some of the best employment opportunities in the market, and provides one of the best environments to work in through best-in-class training programs aimed at helping staff to enhance their skills, knowledge and performance.
"We ensure that we select and retain qualified candidates, providing them with a multi-cultural work environment that encourages them build a rewarding career in the private sector," added Al Qasim.
GM also enjoys close relationships with universities such as the American University of Sharjah, American University in Dubai and the Higher Colleges of Technology and participates in career days in different universities across the UAE.
It has developed a training program for UAE and GCC Nationals which allows student trainees to work in GM under close guidance and training.
On successful completion of this program, the trainee is then offered a full-time position.
GM is one of the longest established automotive companies in the UAE and has been present in the Middle East for over 80 years.
GM's vehicle brands sold in the region are Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, HUMMER and Saab, while GM parts and accessories are sold under the GM Parts and ACDelco brands.
The regional office in Dubai covers the company's operations in Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, UAE and Yemen.
