Join THE One in fighting child abuse
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, April 13 - 2008 at 12:36
- PRESS RELEASE
For the second year running, THE One has joined forces with the Jordan River Foundation (JRF) to help raise money for the Jordanian Child Safety Programme through the sale of its 'Power of Colour' paintings.
The artworks, which are available for purchase at THE One Theatres across the Middle East, have been created by children attending the Arts Workshop offered by the Queen Rania Family and Child Centre - a facility of the JRF.
Each painting comes with a complimentary DVD that provides a unique insight into the lives of some of the young artists, most of whom have either experienced abuse, trauma or loss or are at risk of being abused.
The Arts Workshop aims to empower these children with an alternative tool for self-expression when they are unable to verbalise their ideas, conflicting emotions and feelings of happiness, sadness, fear or anger.
By purchasing a 'Power of Colour' painting from THE One, you will be helping protect the rights and needs of abused children as all proceeds of artwork sales will go to the Jordanian Child Safety Programme to sustain prevention activities similar to the Arts Workshop.
THE One believes that all businesses have a responsibility to engage with society on a significant level, while contributing positively to their communities and that together we can make the world a better place.
