- Saudi Arabia: Sunday, April 13 - 2008 at 12:53
- PRESS RELEASE
Saudi Business Machines Ltd., the General Marketing and Services Representative of IBM World Trade Corporation in Saudi Arabia and IBM recently held a road show in Saudi Arabia under the name of "Future runs on System z" to highlight the new up-graded version "System z10 EC".
IBM's team explained how the system builds on the inherent strengths of the System z (TM) platform, while delivering new technologies and virtualization schemes that are designed to present clients with enhancements in price and performance for key workloads and empower customers with a new range of solutions.
Mr. Neil Ashworth, who works in IBM'S Product & Solution Support Center, said: "We at IBM are excited about launching the z10 because it provides solutions to clients in various sectors like business, government, banking, and healthcare and it is optimal for consolidating workloads consisting of hundreds or tens of servers, into one box to save money, energy, and IT costs".
"In comparing the "System z10 EC with other systems we can safely say that it offers clients a faster engine, and dramatically higher capacity," said Mr. Gerry Mcfadden from IBM's Software Business.
He added: "It is also important to note that it extends the leadership of the System z in key capabilities with the delivery of expanded scalability for growth and large-scale consolidation, and helps to reduce risk and improve an enterprise's flexibility in responding to changing business requirements".
