Graduates can either drop their CVs at the Majid Al Futtaim Group stand or register themselves on the spot to the group's database via a specially designed program developed by its HR team.
Mohammed Malek, VP Group HR, Majid Al Futtaim Group said,
"For the sixth consecutive year our group is participating at Careers UAE 2008. This year we are looking forward to hiring a good number of talented young Emiratis to occupy a number of vacancies created with the remarkable growth of the group in the region. For this reason, we will not just be accepting CVs but also selecting candidates and conducting preliminary interviews during the duration of the fair. We encourage nationals to apply for these positions and meet our team to discuss job opportunities available in our companies and find appropriate positions for them, based on their qualifications."
Majid Al Futtaim Group has successfully implemented an effective and progressive employment strategy that seeks to nurture and empower UAE nationals to contribute effectively to the group's progress. A direct result of this forward-thinking mission has seen the employment of UAE nationals in the Group increase. Over the next three years, Majid Al Futtaim Group plans to raise this figure by a further 25 per cent.
The Group has become a model for development in the Arab world and its Emiratisation programme, overseen by the organisation's Emiratisation Committee, leads, encourages and ensures that UAE nationals are given the opportunities they deserve in the group. Its clearly defined plan puts emphasis on finding quality national talent, providing effective training programmes and a clear career development and progression plan.
Malek, a UAE national himself, says that a growing number of talented UAE nationals are now proving themselves in the private sector. "Previously, many UAE nationals would opt for jobs in either the government or banking sectors, but now, we are witnessing a high number of Emirati men and women choosing to enter the private sector," he adds.
Majid Al Futtaim Group's participation in high-profile events such as Career Fair 2008 is an excellent opportunity to identify the right national talent and educate them on recruitment possibilities in the private sector.
"Our presence at Careers UAE 2008 reiterates our commitment to recruit the country's youth in our rapidly growing businesses, be it shopping malls, leisure, entertainment, fashion or retail. In the past we have been instrumental in bringing on board nationals from this fair, recognising their skills and talents and offering them commendable positions within the organisation," said Malek.
A worthy step taken by the Group's committee in its Emiratisation campaign includes its leadership programme that allows nationals to achieve senior positions. The success of the programme lies in the appointment of nationals to key positions where they take on challenging roles. As a result of this pioneering effort, an elite crop of local talent today heads all Shopping malls in the country, and at other levels within the group.
The Majid Al Futtaim Group stand is located at Hall 2.
