• Bright star indicates aspirational future for healthcare in Dubai

As the Government's new strategic healthcare organisation, the DHA is responsible for protecting the health of everyone living and working in Dubai and providing access to high quality and affordable healthcare.

Representing a bright light, the logo reflects the Government's strategic aspirations for the future for healthcare in Dubai.

Staff within the Department of Health and Medical Services (DoHMS) were all asked to participate in the selection process and were invited to voice their views and select their preferences from a shortlist of four proposed logos using an electronic voting system.

Commenting on the new logo, the Director General said: 'Health affects us all - young and old, families and friends. It was therefore appropriate that the logo should be chosen by the men and women working within the medical sector. Nearly 1000 people from within DoHMS voted, the overwhelming majority choosing the final concept.'

He concludes: "Following my announcement on the 25th March, the Dubai Medical Regulatory Agency (DMRA) is continuing its stakeholder engagement programme and the health funding project is progressing further discussions with a number of public and professional audiences. A full
announcement with regards to the future of health will be made later this year."
