Sulaiman Al-Hattlan Appointed CEO of Arab Strategy Forum

Renowned media expert Dr. Sulaiman Al-Hattlan has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Arab Strategy Forum (ASF), a key gathering of prominent government officials, decision makers, and intellectuals from the region and other parts of the world.

The Arab Strategy Forum aims to promote constructive dialogue on major global issues that impact the Arab world.

His Excellency Mohammed AlGergawi, Chairman of The Executive Office, said: "Dr. Sulaiman Al-Hattlan is a reputed Arab intellectual, known for advocating closer integration with the rest of the world. His call for the adoption of a strategic Arab vision to withstand knowledge, cultural, and economic challenges faced by the region, has been widely welcomed by his peers.

"Top-tier decision makers have brought innovative concepts to the previous editions of the Arab Strategy Forum, and Dr. Al-Hattlan will surely continue the tradition of adding pioneering elements to the event."

Dr Al-Hattlan said: "It is indeed an honour to join this esteemed Forum that has successfully established an influential platform, for dialogue on issues shaping the future of the Arab world."

Appreciating the success of previous Forums to bring together influential leaders who share modern and original ideas, he added: "The Arab Strategy Forum's powerful outreach and focus on seeking solutions to the challenges faced by the region, makes it one of the most significant events in the Arab world. The Forum characterises a willingness to address urgent issues through wider intellectual participation."

Dr. Al-Hattlan was earlier the Editor-in-Chief - Forbes Arabia, prior to assuming the role of Chairman - Forbes CEO Middle East Forum. After graduating from The King Saud University in Riyadh, he pursued higher education in Georgetown University, Howard University, and Harvard University in the US. He also received the coveted Nieman's Fellowship at Harvard before completing his post-Doctorate research in the Centre for Middle Eastern Studies.

As a leading consultant for several organizations in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Al-Hattlan has also worked with the US-based channel ABC News, and participated in the production of key media projects on the Arab world, in partnership with international media companies. He has also published analytical articles in the New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Miami Herald and various newspapers across the GCC. In addition, he currently writes weekly columns in several newspapers in the GCC and frequently appears on prime time television programmes, to discuss his broad-ranging perspectives on regional matters.
