Dubai Women's Establishment hosts key UAE women leaders

The UAE women are increasingly being recognized worldwide for their success in social, political and economic sectors, according to Her Excellency Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimi, UAE Minister of State.

HE Al Hashimi added women are not subjected to any gender disparity in the country, thanks to the enormous support extended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The statements were made at a function hosted by Dubai Women's Establishment honouring outstanding women leaders in the UAE. The gathering was part of the Establishment's series of ongoing initiatives to spotlight the success of women leaders in the country, and project them as role models for the younger generation to learn from.

Mona Al Marri, Chairperson of Dubai Women's Establishment, and other key dignitaries attended the event.

Expressing her gratitude for the invitation extended by Dubai Women's Establishment, H.E. Al Hashimi focused on the essential role played by the Establishment in highlighting the capabilities of UAE women. She pointed out that as these successful women expanded their role into various walks of life, their contribution to the country's progress and their involvement in shaping the country's future have multiplied substantially.

H.E Al Hashimi said: "Woman in the UAE have consistently proved their mettle and enhanced their reputation globally, defying sceptics. Many organizations in the country have women at the helm, reiterating their special capabilities to either lead or rise from the ranks to top positions through diligence and devotion."

In this context, H.E Al Hashimi highlighted the government's concerted effort to provide appropriate management and leadership training programmes to encourage women's active participation in the community.

She stressed: "We recognize the importance of leadership in our lives and in our society. Each one of us can be a role model helping the growth of the country, participating in all activities to achieve comprehensive development."

Mona Al Marri, Chairperson of the board of Dubai Women's Establishment, welcomed H.E. Al Hashimi and commended her keenness to support the Establishment's objective to enhance women's pivotal position throughout the Gulf region.

Reiterating the importance of organizing such interactive gathering with women leaders, Al-Marri said: "The Dubai Women's Establishment is committed to its mandate of empowering the UAE women and raising awareness on their accomplishments achieved under the vision of the country's leadership.

"The Establishment has initiated several programmes for the benefit of women with the active participation of various private and public sector organizations. Our overarching objective is to motivate an increasing number of women to assume responsibility as key partners and contributors to the social and economic progress of the country."

The Dubai Women's Establishment has implemented a five-year strategy to support women achieve work-life balance; nurture potential women leaders; provide life-long opportunities to trainees as well as employed women; cultivate conscientious citizens, and celebrate the image of women in the UAE.
