TAMEER awarded UN accolade for CSR initiative

TAMEER Holding, the region's leading realty developer has been awarded an accolade from the Local United Nations Global Compact Network for the GCC states for its pioneer-ship and commitment to initiatives that aim to promote corporate social responsibility and ethical business standards in the region.

The accolade, bestowed by the UN Global Compact and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince and President of the Executive Council of Dubai, was awarded during the regional launch event for the initiative, aimed at assisting corporations in aligning and implementing universally accepted principles concerning human rights, environment, anti-corruption and labour issues.

Executive Director of the UN Global Compact, Georg Kell, commended the newly joined members of the compact for their pioneering role in the network and for their commitment to promote principles of corporate social responsibility in the region.

CEO of TAMEER, Abdallah Hageali, said the recognition bestowed on the company was another milestone in the firm's endeavor to be the most trusted name in real estate.

'We take delight in being recognized by the UN Global Compact for our furtherance of corporate social responsibility, an essential element of our core values of trust, integrity and empowerment of people; and we look forward to a close working relationship with the U.N. to assist the network in achieving our shared aims', Mr. Hageali said.

The latest accolade follows the recent Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award for Real Estate Development, bestowed on TAMEER for its best business practices and contribution to the economic and social development of the UAE.
