Another new Airbus A321, Al-Tafileh, will join the fleet on May 20 this year.
These two aircraft are to replace two that will be phased out after their operating lease terminates in mid-May.
The Airbus A321 is considered one of the most modern, high-performance and best-serviced aircraft operating on short- and medium-haul routes.
It is distinguished by its operating efficiency.
As such, RJ uses four such aircraft, named Al-Karak, As-Salt, Al-Ramtha and the upcoming Tafileh, to operate, along with other airliners of the Airbus A320 family, on the company's routes in Europe, the Arab Gulf and the Indian Subcontinent.
This twin-engine aircraft seats 168 passengers: 20 on Crown Class, with 46 inches of seat pitch, and 148 seats on Economy, with 32 inches of seat pitch, providing optimal comfort to passengers.
Moreover, the aircraft is equipped with Audio-Video On Demand (AVOD) systems, available to all passengers, whereby each can choose from a wide selection of programs and watch it on his/her screen.
An Airbus A319 (Al-Mafraq) has been introduced into the RJ fleet on March 13, the first of four in a series of this class aircraft that will be assimilated at the end of this year and the beginning of the next.
The Royal Jordanian fleet currently has four Airbus A340s, five Airbus A310s, four Airbus A320s, three Airbus A321s, one Airbus A319 and five Embraer 195s.
During this and the coming year, seven newly manufactured Airbus A321s, A319s and Embraer 175s will join the fleet.
The airline will start receiving 12 Boeing 787 Dreamliners at the end of 2010, as replacement aircraft for the long-haul Airbus A340s and A310s currently operative in the fleet.
The airline, member of the oneworld airline alliance, designated names of Jordanian cities on the new aircraft that joined the fleet and the ones that will join as a part of its mission of promoting Jordan to the world.
