Over 217 exhibitors from both private and public sector enterprises, up 17%, are participating in the three-day event that has registered a remarkable increase in floor space covering an area of 13,900 sq metres.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the event is organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from 15-17 April at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

Following the inauguration ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed toured the exhibition, meeting corporate and academic entities that have come together to demonstrate their commitment to the Government's Emiratisation drive.

Leveraging its profile built over the past seven years, the exhibition serves as a crucial platform for UAE nationals, providing exciting networking possibilities, career leads, updates on a spectrum of companies, internship and performance development programmes, as well as industry specific training and education opportunities.

Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of DWTC, said: 'Each edition of the Careers UAE exhibition has strengthened its multidimensional growth, resulting in the Emiratisation drive assuming a larger significance across industries in the private and public sectors. The sizeable presence of major corporations looking to integrate nationals into their workforce has added to the appeal of the event as a foremost recruitment forum.'

Careers UAE 2008 is organised in conjunction with Emirates National Development Programme (ENDP), TANMIA, Higher Colleges of Technology, Zayed University and the UAE University and sponsored by Sorouh, Emaar Properties, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Al Khazna Insurance Company, HSBC Bank and Mashreq.
