The event held at the school from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. showcased the fun and exciting way technology has been integrated into the classroom.
Students from Dubai American Academy, Cambridge International School, Jumeirah College, Wellington International School and Dubai Modern High School displayed a range of projects and systems they use to broadcast school news, advertise schools events and design school websites.
A fine example was Akash Vashwani, a student from Dubai Modern High School, who demonstrated, Fireintrusec, a robot that can extinguish a fire, eliminate intruders through an integrated security system, and answer a 3G mobile phone.
Held for the fourth year in a row, Tech Connections is an annual event organised and led by GEMS students.
Geoff Turner, Principal, GEMS Wellington International School, commented: 'Tech Connections is a great opportunity for students to display their involvement in the evolution of technology, before confidently carrying these skills into their future jobs. It also provides students with a wider forum to share knowledge and ideas.
