3Com is #1 in China for enterprise stackable switches, routers and IP storage, and #2 worldwide in enterprise and SMB, Ethernet switching ports and enterprise routers

3Com in China

3Com has vaulted to the #1 market share position for enterprise stackable switch ports and router units in the rapidly growing Chinese market, according to leading industry analysis firm IDC. 3Com is also #1 in IP storage in China through its China-based H3C operations. In just 4 years H3C, which began as a joint venture between Huawei Technologies and 3Com in 2003, has become a market force in China. 3Com became sole owner of H3C in 2007.
In China, according to IDC's Q4 2007 figures, H3C is:
- #1 in stackable (fixed port) switching ports;
- #1 in mid-range router shipments and revenue for the third consecutive quarter;
- #1 in unmanaged switching revenue share for the second consecutive quarter; and
- #1 in IP storage area networking market share in 2007.

3Com worldwide

Driven by its unique Open Services Networking (OSN), 3Com continues to be the clear #2 vendor worldwide in total Ethernet switching port shipments, enterprise router units, and small and medium business (SMB) switching, in the latest market share reports.
Worldwide, 3Com is:
- #2 in total Ethernet switching port shipments for the fourth consecutive quarter (Dell'Oro Group, Q4 2007);
- #2 in enterprise router shipments for the third consecutive quarter (Infonetics, Q4 2007); and
- #2 in switching port shipments and revenue for SMBs, and growing faster than the overall market (Infonetics, Q4 2007).

3Com EMEA

3Com EMEA continues its positive growth trajectory, with 5 consecutive quarters of margin growth and 4 consecutive quarters of quarter-on-quarter revenue growth. "In EMEA, 3Com has seen 20% year-on-year revenue growth," says Mike Ansley, 3Com EMEA VP and GM. "This has been largely driven by our increased customer focus. In the past year we have brought service and support in-house and regionalized our channel programs, and we are now expanding our direct sales force".
