Doha all set for largest ever wedding exhibition

With Qatar's growing passion for all aspects of wedding fashion and style and the strong influence of global wedding trends, over 10,000 people are expected to attend Doha's largest ever wedding expo next month.

Visitors will be exposed to the latest trends in the $500m Qatari wedding industry which is growing at an expected rate of 25% annually.

More than 100 exhibitors from 15 countries are coming to the first International Wedding Exhibition and Fashion Show (IWED), showcasing the very best of East and West bridal fashion and beauty at Doha Exhibition Center from Sunday 4th to 7th May, 3pm until 10pm each day.

The highlight of the 4-day exhibition, under the patronage of the Qatari Business Women Forum, will be the eagerly-awaited daily (3pm) IWED Fashion Show, where international wedding designers Hanin Huchaime and Lamia Abi Nader will be among those revealing their new summer 2008 collections.

Supported by a team of international make-up artists, glamorous fashion models, sound and light technology from Catwalk Sponsor dotvision.com, the IWED Fashion Show will be an experience never before seen in Doha, captured on camera by video and photography sponsor Prolines and TV Sponsor Massaya TV.

IWED is the creation of Qatar Expo, whose Director of Exhibitions Fernando De Guama comments: "The fashion shows are delivered to the highest standard to inspire brides, grooms and the rest of the family to look radiant on their most memorable day. Moreover, during this year's exhibition we will be announcing very exciting developments for the show next year".

An opulent celebration of fashion and style, from latest designs to fashion, beauty, catering, florists, photographers and wedding venues, will get together at IWED at the Doha Exhibition Center is the only destination for brides, and husbands, to be.

Open to wedding professionals and the public, with exclusive 'Ladies Day' on Monday 5 May, brides no longer have to settle for second best when planning their perfect wedding.

"Why waste time and money traveling abroad when IWED features the very latest international wedding products under one roof here in Doha. There will be a strong focus on European design, notably Italian and French, as well as the very best ideas from the Middle East. You can plan your entire wedding in one day," added De Guama.

IWED visitors will discover the latest bridal and night gowns, a vast choice of hair and beauty products and stylists including Be Bloom Beauty Center, wedding planners, fashion designers, wedding gift suppliers, flower designers, footwear designers, wedding caterers, and luxury wedding venues such as Regency Halls.
