Next Generation Networks Solutions deploys Force10 networks to deliver data center hosting services throughout Bahrain
- Bahrain: Tuesday, April 22 - 2008 at 09:16
- PRESS RELEASE
Force10 Networks, the pioneer in building and securing reliable networks, announced that Next Generation Network Solutions (NGNS), a subsidiary of Rawabi Telecom & Software (RTS), has deployed the TeraScale E-Series family of switch/routers and the S-Series family of access switches to ensure the reliable performance of its recently installed network in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
"For our business to maintain a brand associated with quality and reliability, we must deploy an equally high performing and reliable network infrastructure that meets the rigid performance expectations of our customers," said Maro Simatovic, Chief Operating Officer at NGNS. "Force10 delivers the reliable and resilient network solutions we need to deliver premium services to our customers and the scalability required to handle our anticipated growth in traffic as our customer base expands."
The Force10 E300 and S50 are at the foundation of the network, delivering reliability, network control and scalability from the core to the edge. As the edge of the network, the Force10 S50 switches aggregate what will be nearly 600 servers. The high density and compact form factor of the S50 allow NGNS to cost effectively manage growth in its network by adding additional switches when extra capacity is required. Additionally, with support for four 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks, the S50 protects the investment in infrastructure by enabling NGNS to transition to the higher speed in the future without an equipment upgrade.
At the core of the network, the Force10 TeraScale E300 provides a high level of resiliency to ensure the maximum network uptime that is essential to guaranteeing service level agreements. The three-CPU architecture distributes switching, routing and management functionalities between distinct processors to minimize unplanned network downtime. Additionally, FTOS, the Force10 Operating System, features modular processes that contain faults to ensure continuous traffic flows while providing the monitoring and inline serviceability features that NGNS needs to support its high performance infrastructure and guarantee service to its customers.
"Anticipating customer growth and a resulting increase in traffic, NGNS needed a network that could seamlessly expand as additional capacity was required and do so in a cost-effective way," said James Hanley, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Force10 Networks. "Force10 delivers the networking solutions to build a scalable infrastructure that is highly reliable, providing NGNS with a strong competitive advantage with which it can deliver clear value to its customers."
Reliable Networking by Force10 Networks enables business to transform their networks into strategic assets. With unique advances in reliability, network control and scalability, the Force10 product portfolio enables enterprises to lower their total cost of ownership by building a flexible network that is ready to support emerging and evolving applications.
