From the Indian capital, New Delhi, another aircraft will depart at 21:00 LT and arrive in Abu Dhabi - shortly after the Mumbai flight - at 23:35 LT. The return flight departs Abu Dhabi at 00:25 LT arriving into New Delhi at 05:20 LT.
As of today, both routes will offer non-stop, daily flights from Abu Dhabi to India's commercial and administrative capitals.
The arrival of Jet Airways into Abu Dhabi International Airport will raise the total number of international carriers operating from the UAE capital's airport to 37. The increase in services on two key routes between India and Abu Dhabi is expected to attract immediate interest from travelers in both countries.
"Abu Dhabi and India enjoy a long, close history in relation to matters of trade, growth, commerce and more recently tourism," said Mohammed Al Bulooki, Director of Marketing & Communications, Abu Dhabi Airports Company.
"We are happy that Abu Dhabi has been selected by Jet Airways as its first destination into the UAE, and we are certain that these services will benefit both UAE and Indian businesses, expatriate residents and tourists alike," added Al Bulooki.
Echoing ADAC's sentiment of the close ties between the two countries, Mr Fareed Al Alawi, Vice President - Middle East of Jet Airways, said:
"International air services are the backbone of progress and we are confident that Jet Airways flights into Abu Dhabi will further strengthen the existing bond between the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the UAE and India."
"This greater air connectivity between the two countries will undoubtedly fuel regional growth in trade and investment," added Al Alawi.
In a bid to highlight its arrival in the UAE capital, the airline said that services from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai and New Delhi will be offered at (one-way) introductory prices.
Since its inception in 1993, Jet Airways has undergone rapid growth from domestic to international carrier and its dynamic expansion was underlined again early this year by becoming the first private airline to connect India and the Gulf Region.
