OnLine Distribution to build on convergence business unit portfolio with new appointment

With businesses across the region seeing an imminent rise in demand for convergence technology - for voice, data and image solutions - OnLine Distribution has appointed Brian James as Convergence Business Unit Manager to continue on the good work done by Zakir Lokare, the erstwhile Business Unit Manager who has moved on to leading enterprise wireless vendor Meru Networks as Regional Sales Director-MEA.

"Brian has a well rounded background in Management and IT, having in his last stint managed an IT integration company with capabilities in applications, voice & data networks in addition to working with leading IT services and product companies like NCR in the region. Over the last few years, OnLine Distribution Ltd has embarked on some strategic changes to align itself with its parent company Westcon's model of technology focus along Security, Convergence and Mobility. The Convergence Business unit is on the anvil of some major announcements, having already tied up with Nortel recently for their SMB voice and data portfolio across the Middle East.

James' role as Business Unit Manager at OnLine Distribution, will oversee the growth of the Convergence Business Unit where he will be responsible for 3Com, Extreme, Juniper (Enterprise product range), Nortel and Transition.
