Etisalat publishes Wasel Collector's Card Album

Etisalat announced a unique collector's album containing a history of the UAE as depicted on its pre-paid credit recharge cards.

Etisalat's objective in publishing this album is to archive the full collection for future generations, helping to protect the culture, history and identity of the UAE.

This album includesh 273 pages of high quality printing and colored images with high resolution and elegance.

The earliest card in the album depicts the UAE flag, and was issued on the occassion of the 30th anniversary of the accession of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in August of 1996.

Other cards record key achievements in the Emirates, including the 20th anniversary of Etisalat, also in 1996; the FEI World Endurance Championship held in February 1998, the National Environment Day from February 1999, the 25th anniversary of the UAE University in 2001.

The cards have also been used to raise awareness of various social campaigns, including the environment, blood donation drives, drug awareness and support for people with special needs.

Other cards have depicted the various beautiful and historic architecture in the UAE, as well as the many varieties of birds, butterflies and other animals in the country.

Mr.Ahmad Mahmoud, Senior Manager, Public Relations at Etisalat said: "We are proud to dedicate this album to the nation. It is a valuable and rich collection of the art, wildlife and history of the UAE and helps to chart and protect our cutlure and national identity".

The first issues of this album have been presented by Etisalat to the Emirates Philatelic Association.

Mr. Abdullah Khoury, president of Emirates Philatelic Association said: 'I thank Etisalat for this valuable contribution to our records of the UAE's history. This album will be a precious addition to our existing library that charts the many achievements that have been accomplished in the UAE".
