The agreement was signed at a press conference hosted at the Court Yard on April 21st 2008. This new partnership served to reiterate the company's interest in the development of the youth sector by utilizing one of Jordan's most popular sports.

Umniah's CEO Mr. Joseph Hanania explained the company's firm belief in sports as a tool for molding minds.

Elaborating further on this sentiment, he said,

'We are proud to be doing our part for shaping the perspectives of Jordan's future leaders. We believe that sports are an effective means for communication and we are proud to be solidifying our role as an integral part of this community through our involvement in sports. We hope that our partnership with Al Riyadi Club will help strengthen Jordan's position on the international map of sports. The number of teams that Al Riyadi currently manages is 20 with 2 other official teams and we on our part are thrilled to be so closely involved with this organization and its operations'.

Mr. Hanania added that Umniah would also be working closely with the Al Riyadi Club to support over 400 male and female players all between 4 and 15 years of age.

Through this agreement, Umniah will be partnering with Al Riyadi to instill in Jordan's future generations the values of patriotism, team spirit, loyalty and Fair Play.

From his end the secretary of the Al Riyadi Basketball Club said, 'We are confident that our partnership with Umniah will bring us closer to our goal for instilling further development for the skills and talents of our youth not only in Jordan but in the West Asia region at large'.

It is important to note that Umniah strengthens its involvement in the local community's development through launching initiatives that help serve different demographic segments.

One such initiative is its recently launched Community computer Training center, which caters to medium and low income earning households.
