- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, April 23 - 2008 at 16:36
- PRESS RELEASE
As part of its effort to support SMEs and provide young UAE nationals with investment opportunities in rapidly growing sectors, Ruwad Establishment recently met with a delegation from Thai Gem and Jewellery Traders Association recently.
The aim of the meeting was to continue the communication with the Thai party that started during Ruwad's participation in the World SME Expo held last November. Ruwad participated in the international event with the aim of building up international relationships with its peers and other supporting parties at the global level. This network will help the establishment to explore more investment opportunities and develop promising sectors to be utilized by the SME community in Sharjah.
The two parties discussed ways of cooperation to improve the skills of young enterprisers and to encourage them to establish projects in the gems and jewellery industry, as the UAE is one of the world's leading markets for these sectors. The Thai delegation expressed readiness to provide all forms of technical and informative support to the establishment in its bid to establish national projects in jewellery designing, manufacturing and trading.
Both parties will jointly develop a working plan and will utilise supporting programmes and mechanisms to create a basis of national projects in this industry. The two countries will exchange visits that will include, in later stages, Ruwad enterprisers visiting Thailand to be updated on the latest trends and developments in the industry. Thai experts will be invited to manage workshops on topics relating to the gems and jewellery industry.
