The announcement underpins United's commitment to the Middle East and growing confidence in the region overall.
Opening the new United office in Amman today, Marcel Fuchs, United Airlines managing director for Europe, Africa, the Middle East and India announced that the sales manager for Jordan will be Arwa Haj Deeb.
She will oversee all sales activities and be responsible for developing the market and working with United's Star Alliance partners, bmi and Lufthansa.
Miss Haj Deeb will be working from the new United office, which is based at Al Rabyah Towers, Al Rabyah, Amman, Jordan.
Commenting on the appointment, Marcel Fuchs said: 'Jordan is becoming an increasingly important market. By working in partnership with Alshamel International we are aiming to maximise our sales potential'.
United has recently expanded its services in the region by increasing to daily its Kuwait to Washington D.C. service.
Additionally, United offers a range of connections from Jordan to the US via bmi to London and Lufthansa to Germany.
