Etisalat launches 3.5G router allowing up to 32 people to browse the net from one SIM card

Etisalat launched the router today in response to growing demand for mobile broadband Internet services in the UAE.

The Etisalat router, available at Etisalat Business Centres and other outlets across the UAE, allows up to 32 people to Connect to the Internet simultaneously using a single USIM card through Wi-Fi technology, also the number of users of the same router can be unlimited by adapting a 'switch' or 'hub' to both, PC's and Laptops.

The wireless 3.5G mobile router also offers access speeds up to 7.2Mbps in more than 98 per cent of the populated areas of the UAE.

Etisalat router subscribers need to only place their USIM cards in the easy to move, easy to use routers to establish a connection.

The lightweight, user-friendly device is equipped with a sensitive antenna suited for optimal network connectivity and can be powered through a PC USB port.

The router can also be used as a modem, also to make calls in addition to send and receive SMS.

Mr. Essa Al Haddad, Chief Marketing Officer-Etisalat, said the new router offering is an example of Etisalat's responsiveness to changing market needs and its continued technological leadership.

The new router is a proven and effective solution for mobile broadband Internet users, and offers a safe and quick way to Connect to the Internet on the move.

Etisalat has provided a number of packages to support the new service, he added, including a pay-as-you-use option for customers whose usage varies from month to month.

The new service is available to all existing Etisalat subscribers.

To encourage its subscribers to use this new service, Etisalat has enhanced its 3.5 G Mobile Broadband Internet with a new package (Unlimited Data Package), which speed reaches up to 7.2 Megabits per second, and for the first time, subscribers can access and download data that reaches 100 Gigabyte per month.

This promotion continues until 19 May, when it will then allow 10 GB per month.
