Aldar hosts its 3rd Annual Health, Safety and Environmental Seminar

Aldar Properties, the leading Abu Dhabi-based property developer, today hosted its 3rd Annual Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Seminar.

The seminar coincided with the International Labour Organisation's World Health and Safety Day.

During the event, five of Aldar's major developments were recognized for their HSE record. Al Raha Beach, Yas Island, Injazat Data Centre, and Al Mamoura Office Complex, were all praised as "the most committed sites towards health, safety and environment". Al Raha Gardens was proclaimed the most improved site committed to HSE.

The free event is aimed at Senior Management working on Aldar projects plus Government officials, Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), and The Emirates Safety Group Officials.

The 3rd Annual Health, Safety and Environmental Seminar heard from internationally renowned spokespeople who are well respected authorities in the Health, Safety and Environmental industry.

Topics for the seminar included: Why HSE Makes Good Business Sense, given by Eldeen Pozniak, the President of Society of Safety Engineering; UAE Occupational Health Requirements, delivered by Dr. Ghassan Shaker, Head of Occupational Health at Sheikh Kalifa Medical Centre, Abu Dhabi; HSE Roles and Responsibilities, presented by Ahmed Menhali, Chairman of IOSH for the Middle East; and Implementation of Sustainability, addressed by Elham Monavari Senior Sustainability Manager, GHD Consultants.

Andrew Broderick, Health, Safety and Environmental Team Leader, Aldar Properties, said, "Maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards in the industry is of vital importance to ensuring the safety of not only the team working on the project, but also the community that is around the project. This seminar highlighted the importance of HSE and served as a viable resource for attendees to gain further insight into maintaining best practices."
