LBC members briefed on various facilities and services provided by DNRD in the UAE

As part of Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department's (DNRD) strategy aiming at improving interaction with its strategic partners, reaching out to get insights on obstacles and offer prompt solutions, Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of DNRD, Brigadier Obeid bin Suroor, Deputy Director of DNRD, and other Director's Assistants joined the members of the Lebanese Business Council at Al Murouj Rotana Hotel in Dubai on April 27.

The event, which was attended by 150 members of the LBC Council, was inaugurated by Joseph Nahra, President of the LBC. In his welcome speech, he expressed his admiration towards DNRD's efforts in attaining highest customer service satisfaction and being able to attend to businessmen requirements and simplify procedures.

Addressing the LBC members, Major General Al Marri highlighted the importance of organizing such gatherings, saying: 'DNRD has adopted a policy of strengthening strategic partnership with all the parties playing a vital role in the growth of trade and tourism in the UAE. We started taking part in such meetings more than a year ago, to discuss issues of concern with our partners, including business councils, consulates and tourist companies.'

Attendees of the event were briefed on DNRD's services offered at their headquarter, external branches, airports and seaports. Facilities to businessmen and public were also highlighted such as the Distinguished Guest Service offered to frequent business visitors to Dubai, Amer a complain and suggestion service logged via a toll free number 8005111, Jadded Service, SMS notifications sent to all subscribers on visa expiry dates and other issues, the Tasaheel Service offered to guests arriving at the Dubai airport to facilitate their passport control procedures and many other services. On-line visa application was highly praised due to its efficiency and reducing the commuting time.

Nahra said, 'We highly appreciate the DNRD's cooperation in this regard, which enables us to benefit from the business opportunities and facilities available in the UAE and are proud to be part of Dubai's growth internationally'.

Lebanese Business Council, which is a non-profit organization, provides its services to Lebanese companies and businessmen who are working or aspiring to work in the UAE or vice versa, and has members from Lebanon and the UAE representing more than 100 companies. At the end of the event, DNRD and LBC exchanged mementoes of appreciation.

These gatherings is the latest in a number of engagements between DNRD and its strategic partners, aimed at creating avenues of fruitful cooperation. The DNRD officials attended a similar meeting with the Italian Business Council in February 2008.
