'Hospital and IAQ / Contamination Challenges' kicks off inaugural Climate Control Conference in Dubai
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, April 29 - 2008 at 12:42
- PRESS RELEASE
The Climate Control Conference (known as C3), the region's first dedicated HVACR event opened its doors to the Middle East's leading industry players.
Supported by leading industry players - Johnson Controls (platinum sponsor), Emerson Climate Technologies and Leroy Somer as Gold sponsors, Faisal Jassim Trading Co and TAS Middle East as Silver sponsors - C3 is a combination of technical sessions, panel discussions, display booths, special one-on-one networking sessions and, for the first time in an event of this kind, a dedicated HR track.
The Conference aims to fulfill a long-felt industry need for a focused and uncluttered HVACR event.
It is a gathering of the HVACR fraternity in the region and a platform for free-flowing exchange of news, ideas and observations.
It will be ably moderated by John Hunter, former GM at UTS Carrier and a former advisor to Dubai's Department of Economic Development (DED).
Among his accomplishments with the DED, John developed and implemented the Dubai Quality Award which helped lead the way for the growth of best practice development within Dubai's business sector.
John also spent time in Dubai as a private management consultant working with many of Dubai's well-known companies in organisational, sales and profitability development.
While in Dubai, John also served in the voluntary positions of President of the American Business Council and Vice Chairman of the Dubai Quality Group.
"C3 is unique in its presentation, involving as it does IT tools for a better understanding of key issues in the industry," said B Surendar, Editorial Director of CPI Industry. "It is unique also because of the variety on offer, be it a marketplace for Green Building-related products and services or an HR forum that aims to link businesses with competent candidates for a wide range of HVACR-related assignments. We have been very pleased and encouraged by the level of interest and support from the industry. We hope to host this conference every year".
"Emerson Climate Technologies is glad to be associated with The Climate Control Conference in promoting energy awareness in the region and particularly in the field of HVAC," said Uday Mahadeokar, marketing manager for Emerson Climate Technologies.
C3 (www.ccube.org) has a strong line-up of topics for its technical sessions and panel discussions on topics like 'IAQ/contamination challenges in hospitals', 'IP/Net-based control systems', and 'Load estimates and their impact on plant size design in district cooling'.
Other topics include 'Energy considerations for fresh air treatment'; 'Refrigerants'; and 'Seawater intake systems - what they entail in terms of engineering and costs. Green Buildings will be the focus on the last day of the event, including a seminar on 'Seeking clarity on what the Government of Dubai expects of builders, consultants, contractors and clients in implementing Green Building projects'.
Emirates GBC as C3's Green/Sustainability Advocate will be hosting a special workshop on design challenges.
"As Silver Sponsors, TAS ME is excited that Climate Control Middle East has organized this event. Their continual commitment to support and build our industry is invaluable. We hope all attendees and participants benefit from this event." Jamie Saunier, Technical Manager, TAS ME.
In addition to a panel discussion on 'Challenges in finding and retaining employees", C3 has received numerous CVs from HVACR specialists for short listing and preliminary interviews during the dedicated HR track at the event.
Raphael Khlat, Managing Director for Faisal Jassim Trading Co, C3's Silver sponsor said, "FTCO is committed to providing premium quality products for the HVAC industry and is happy to be associated with events like C3 that promote excellence and good practices in the market".
Leading industry players spearhead the "Green Bazaar" on the last day of the event. Green Bazaar will be focused on available Green Building technologies and services.
David Sonzogni, GM at Leroy Somer added, "In today's buildings, electric motors represent 60 to 70% of the energy consumption. The new directive from Dubai Government on "greener buildings" will help architects and designers to re-think all pumping systems, HVAC equipments, district cooling plants. We expect the future buildings of Dubai to adopt the DYNEO concept and start saving energy for a brighter tomorrow".
