Doha to host ARABCOM 2002 Forum & Exhibition

Katia Tayar, President & CEO of ARABCOM HITEK, announced in a press conference that The 5th Arabcom , Arab International Annual conference and Exhibition for the Development of telecom, IT, broadcasting, and posts for all the Arab states and the Arabsat general ministerial meeting will be held in Doha from April 21 to 23 next year.

This is the first time that ARABCOM takes place outside Beirut, following 4 years of success, announced Tayar

Some 1,000 delegates from the all the countries will attend the three-day Forum, which will take place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Doha Qatar. An exhibition held in parallel at the Qatar International Exhibition Center, in which major international and regional telecom, IT, Broadcast, Post, and communication companies take part, Arabcom president Katia Tayar said during the press conference held recently in Qatar.

Companies from some 70 countries have already confirmed their participation in the Arabcom Expo in addition to several National Pavilions. Arabcom has been the leading annual event of its kind in the Arab states since 1998, attracting both the private and public sector and providing an ideal opportunity for business.

The Arab region presents an attractive market for the telecom, IT, postal and broadcasting industry. The strong buying power of these states offers exciting business opportunities to companies. Some $50 bn is expected to be spent on new facilities and upgrades over the next five years, Tayar said.
