Cancer patient seeks $10m from tobacco company

A Saudi cancer patient has filed a $10m lawsuit against a multinational tobacco company, reported Gulf News. Ali Aseeri has blamed tobacco consumption for serious damages caused to his health and wealth. Aseeri, who was once a prominent businessman and owner of a leading contracting company in the Kingdom, said he plans to use the compensation to build a charity hospital for the treatment of tobacco-related diseases. The Jeddah Public Court has agreed to hear the case on July 26.
