- PRESS RELEASE
Stemming from its strong belief in the youth of today and their potential as leaders of tomorrow, the Jordan Islamic Bank for Finance and Investment joined the expanding network of supporters of Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans.
The support provided to the Fund by the Jordan Islamic Bank for Finance and Investment encompasses the covering of university tuition fees and living expenses of five of the Fund's beneficiaries over a period of four years. It will also cover the educational fees and living expenses of five college students benefiting from the Fund's services for a period of two years.
The management of the Jordan Islamic Bank for Finance and Investment expressed great enthusiasm over the support extended to Al-Aman Fund, stressing that it serves to reiterate the bank's mission to contribute to the social and economic development of Jordan.
Speaking on behalf of the Fund, Ms. Maha Saqqa, Executive Director of Al-Aman Fund, explained that given the many social and economic challenges that face Jordanian youth in general and youth graduating from orphan care centers in particular, such generous donations serve to instill hope in the hearts and minds of those who lack the economic means to support themselves.
"Donations like this one, bring us closer to our goal of creating, out of Her Majesty Queen Rania's vision of helping orphaned youth, a reality. We are working towards positioning Al-Aman Fund as the place where orphaned and abandoned youth are given a chance to become fruitful and productive citizens. I thank the bank for their generous donation and I sincerely hope that this example will serve as an invitation for many other organizations to soon follow suit, thus allowing us to make our goals a tangible and achievable reality."
From his end, Vice Chairman and General Manager of the Jordan Islamic Bank for Finance and Investment, Mr. Musa Shihadeh, stated, "We, at the Jordan Islamic Bank, are proud to constantly involve ourselves in initiatives that promise further development for the Jordanian community. We are making this contribution as a way to reiterate the high admiration we have for the work done by Al-Aman Fund and for the pivotal role it plays in ensuring that the youth of today go on to become the active and productive leaders of tomorrow. We salute this great initiative of HM Queen Rania for the support it provides to the orphaned youth, and we feel that our contribution will bring the Fund one step further towards achieving its grand goals."
It is important to note that Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans is an independent non-governmental organization founded in 2006 by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah. It works to equip orphaned youth, who graduated from orphan care centers at the age of 18, with the education and skills necessary to become successful, self-reliant, and productive members of society.
This is done by operating five Support Schemes responsive to their needs. The Support Schemes include Educational Scholarships, Coverage of Living Expenses, Counseling, Apprenticeship & Employment, and Medical Insurance.
