UAE school buses put students at risk

A top official in the UAE said school buses in the country do not meet the international standards of safety, reported Khaleej Times. Mohammad Ahmed Al Shabibi, Head of Transport Office of the Administration Department at Abu Dhabi Education Zone, said not meeting these standards puts the lives of students at risk. The official was commenting on the rash of recent accidents involving school buses, including the death of a four-year-old boy who was left alone in a school bus in Abu Dhabi.
