The award was given to International event organisers, Turret Middle East Ltd, at prestigious Middle East Event Industry Awards Ceremony held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Richard Hease, Chairman of Turret ME, the organisers of the World Future Energy Summit, said 'This award gives the World Future Energy Summit fantastic recognition for a launch event which succeeded in creating a Davos-style event for Abu Dhabi. It was about more than talking, it was about business.'

The World Future Energy Summit was held for the first time at ADNEC, Abu Dhabi's new exhibition and conference centre on January 21-23, 2008. WFES 2008 was hosted by Masdar, Abu Dhabi's multi-faceted, multi-billion dollar investment in the development and commercialization of innovative technologies in renewable, alternative and sustainable energies as well as sustainable design.

Hease added: 'Masdar played a critical role in bringing together global leaders and experts to Abu Dhabi to address the world's future energy challenges. We are looking forward to working closely with Masdar on future events.'

Congress, Conference and Meetings are regarded as one of the most competitive industries in the United Arab Emirates and the awards were judged by an international panel of experts including heads of events associations, production companies, marketing and PR experts, logistics engineers and international MBAs.

'One of the reasons ADNEC was started is so new shows like this can be a success' said Simon Horgan, Chief Executive Officer, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. 'It really was a remarkable event.'
