Confiserie Sprungli opens Middle East office in Dubai
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, May 03 - 2008 at 14:08
- PRESS RELEASE
Confiserie Sprungli, creator of the finest premium-quality chocolate specialties in the world since 1836, has opened an office in Dubai to cater to growing demand in the Middle East.
Confiserie Sprüngli was founded approximately 170 years ago by David Sprüngli, a true visionary in his own time. In 1836 David and his son Rudolf established the Sprüngli & Sohn confectionery business in Marktgasse in Zurich.
Today, the business is run by the sixth generation of the family, Milan and Tomas Prenosil Sprüngli, and the tradition and firm culture created by David Sprüngli is still kept firmly alive. Confiserie Sprüngli currently owns 17 shops conveniently located throughout Switzerland.
"Sprüngli chocolates have become world famous for their exquisite taste and their consistent high-premium quality products. However, Sprüngli has since evolved into being more than simply a 'chocolatier'," said Milan Prenosil Sprüngli, Chairman of Confiserie Sprungli.
"The Sprüngli assortment contains around 1700 different products ranging from pralines and the world-famous truffles to the 'Luxemburgerli' or 'macarons fourés', with the exquisite butter cream filling virtually melting in the mouth!" he added.
Besides that, Sprüngli also offers a whole range of biscuits, sweet and savoury pastries, cakes, ice creams, sandwiches and many other products for catering. Great care is taken to preserve the traditional recipes which go back as much as six generations.
The company still remains true to its tradition of artisan-produced chocolates and cakes, and although the production is now geared to larger quantities, the attention to detail and the highest quality of the raw ingredients remain the core philosophy. All Sprüngli products are still made by hand.
"When it comes to quality and ingredients, Sprüngli does not compromise. The company uses the best and freshest ingredients from all over the world, with only natural colourings," Tomas Prenosil Sprüngli, CEO and Delegate of the Board of Confiserie Sprungli.
"No additives are added to prolong the shelf life of the products, as that would compromise the quality, freshness and flavour. This is the reason why you will never see Sprüngli shops outside of Switzerland."
"Sprüngli's interest abroad is to cooperate with carefully-selected and exclusive clients such as the Royal families, corporate clients and various select individuals."
Sprüngli's focus is on providing unique corporate gifts, gifts for Eid, weddings, and any special occasions to the Middle East market. All Sprüngli chocolates can be personalised to each specific customer's requirements, from customised and elegant packaging to incorporating a company logo or an individual's name on the chocolate design itself.
"We are extremely pleased to be in Dubai, and are looking forward to expanding within the GCC," added Ester Crameri, Managing Director of Sprungli Middle East.
"We hope to introduce and sell Sprüngli products to individuals who are accustomed to the highest quality products, and who enjoy 'the finer things in life'. Sprüngli clientele are certainly very discerning and they know exactly what they want. We are particularly interested in companies looking to spoil their clients with an extra special and unique gift," she added.
Sprüngli has close links with international courier services so that their products can be delivered to any destination in the world within 48 hours. Specialities are also dispatched world-wide via their online mail order system.
Sprüngli also recently started a shipping agreement with Emirates and Swiss Airlines to facilitate the speedy delivery of their products from Switzerland to Dubai. There are currently three daily flights from Zurich to Dubai.
