With established offices in Bahrain, Dubai and Riyadh, Norton Rose Group has been advising clients in the Middle East for nearly 30 years and has established a substantial regional client base of domestic and foreign banks and businesses.

Stephen Parish, Global Head of Banking commented:

'At present we have well established offices in Bahrain, Dubai and Riyadh. Given the enormous programme of industrial expansion that is planned for Abu Dhabi we made the strategic decision to open an office in the growing city. We identified that our competitive advantage will lie in having a group of offices in these four economic centres. We are expecting that our Abu Dhabi office will initially focus on corporate finance, asset finance and project finance but will look to expand in the future.'

Campbell Steedman, Middle East Managing Partner, commented:

'This is an exciting development for our international operations which demonstrates our commitment to the region. Feedback from our clients has been very encouraging and we look forward to being able to offer our support to both existing and new clients from a fully established practice in the city.'

This announcement follows the recent news regarding the promotion of two new partners in Dubai, the arrival of Karl Rogers, a new partner in Dubai, and an association with the Abdulaziz Al-Assaf Law Firm in Saudi Arabia which was formed at the end of 2007.
