According to the agreement Dubai Towers - Doha, the largest mixed-use development in Qatar, will be supplied with pre-agreed chilled water quantities from state-of-the-art production facilities developed and commissioned by Qatar Cool, the sole supplier for district cooling services to the West Bay and Corniche area.

The contract was signed by Farhan Faraidooni, Executive Chairman, Sama Dubai, and Omar Hussain Al-Fardan, Chairman of Qatar Cool. It has been agreed that the delivery of chilled water into the building will be carried out in three stages - September 2009, February 2010, and August 2010 to meet the main contractors' construction and commissioning activities on-site.

Farhan Faraidooni, Executive Chairman, Sama Dubai, said:

"Our agreement with Qatar Cool comes at a time where work on Dubai Towers - Doha continues to progress. We will maintain our focus on delivering products and services that reflect our vision and commitment to the community. "

Qatar Cool, is a private sector joint venture company owned by United Development Company (UDC) of Qatar, UAE-based Tabreed, and other private Qatari investors. Qatar Cool will generate the chilled water from either of two existing plants. A third plant is planned to be in the same area due to the overwhelming demand of Qatar Cool services.

The two independent plants will ensure continuity of supply to the Dubai Towers - Doha project, as well as providing back up service during times of scheduled plant maintenance. This is Qatar Cool's commitment to ensure its clients continue to enjoy uninterrupted service as well as comfort.

"As in all other projects, Sama Dubai places enormous emphasis on green-friendly solutions. Our district cooling initiative for the Dubai Towers - Doha project is in line with our objective to gain LEED certification for all our projects."

Omar Hussain Al-Fardan, Chairman of Qatar Cool, said: "Qatar Cool believes in providing environmentally friendly, reliable and efficient District Cooling Services. We are pleased to participate in the achievement and success of our clients."

Dubai Towers-Doha will be the tallest tower in Qatar at 437 meters, located on the Corniche in the West Bay area. The project is set for completion in 2010, and will feature offices, serviced and unfurnished apartments, an upscale retail shopping boulevard, and a luxury boutique hotel incorporating a number of world class amenities.
