McAfee Inc. Highlights importance of IT security in Oman

The McAfee security seminar was attended by around 100 of the top IT executives and decision makers from various Omani enterprise businesses, Government bodies and Telco organisations.

McAfee experts gave attendees advice and a thorough insight into the latest security threats, developments in IT security solutions and the impact of new compliance rules and regulations on business operations in the local market.

"The event in Oman was greatly welcomed by the attendees, and there was an excellent turnout from a wide cross-section of the enterprise business community and government sector," said Emile Abou Saleh, Territory Manager, McAfee Middle East.

"We addressed the growing diversity and sophistication of threats and security risks affecting organizations today both locally and world-wide. Data Loss and implications on business continuity were one of the key topics discussed at length".

"We are confident that this event has underlined our commitment to our customers in Oman and helped McAfee to strengthen its penetration into new market segments here," added Abou Saleh.

At the event, McAfee also discussed the benefits of proactively and effectively managing upcoming security risks such as the importance of Data Protection for businesses in the Middle East today.

The McAfee experts introduced attendees to the various solutions within the McAfee 'Data Protection Solutions' product range.

The team also presented McAfee's NEW 'ePolicy Orchestrator' (ePO), which offers end-to-end endpoint protection, meaning customers can leverage their existing agent and management console for easy deployment, management and reporting.

The new ePO solution is the first offering to truly protect businesses from the ramifications of data loss.

McAfee continues to strengthen and maintain its strong presence in Oman, provide further support to resellers in the market and increase awareness in the marketplace of evolving security threats and the importance of taking the necessary precautions against them.
