Jean-Louis takes over from Andrea Rossi who has moved to Italy as the CEO of AXA Assicurazioni.

Making his initial statements after taking over as CEO Jean-Louis said that he was impressed with how quickly awareness for the AXA brand had grown in the region and, clearly, AXA's financial stability and professionalism were crucial elements in establishing the company's strong position.

Says Jean-Louis, 'I am thrilled to be in this vibrant and dynamic market. With our JV partner, the Kanoo Group, AXA is experiencing an exponential growth in the region thanks to our partners and thanks to the superior quality of the AXA teams. In the coming years, we plan to focus on expanding AXA in the region and on growing faster than the market whilst becoming an even more solid and profitable company. Our clear ambition is to become the market's preferred company for customers and employees alike.'

He added, 'In order to achieve this goal, one of the key pillars of our strategy will be to further increase the satisfaction of our customers and set new standards in the region. This will be achieved thanks to our quality of service, the quality of our innovative products, the expertise of the distribution network and, last but not least, the engagement of the AXA teams.'

Jean-Louis Laurent Josi, 38, joined the AXA Group at the time of the Winterthur fusion in the beginning of 2007. He was Head of Retail and SME Insurance as well as a member of the Executive Committee. Upon AXA Group's acquisition, he became Head of Multidistribution for AXA Belgium, as well as a member of its Executive Committee. He was previously Managing Director and COO of a Belgian bank.

Says Jean Raymond Abat, CEO of the Mediterranean region: 'I want to thank Andrea for his work in the GCC region and I have no doubt that Jean-Louis' depth of experience will lead AXA Gulf towards becoming the company of choice in financial protection in the Middle East.'
