The internationally acclaimed Mexican restaurant, which first opened in Texas in 1984, has gained popularity over the years since being bought by Brinker International in the early 90's.

Today there are over 170 'On the Border' Mexican restaurants across the US alone.

Arabian Food Supplies (AFS), one of the region's leading, marketing, distribution, retail supermarket, catering and casual dining operators, will present OTB to Dubai, adding to its portfolio of successful restaurants such as Chili's and Fuddruckers in UAE, KSA, and Egypt.

'The addition of On the Border to our company's portfolio is in line with our company's goal of continuing to provide our guests with the best food in an inviting atmosphere, served by the friendliest team members' said Sheikh Saleh Naghi, Chairman of Arabian Food Supplies.

'On the Border is about venturing off the map, to experience something new. An authentic Mexican fiesta, consisting of food prepared using classic Mexican recipes, fantastic signature drinks, all in a festive atmosphere. OTB will be the first Mexican restaurant in the region to feature a live 'fajita window' table side food preparation, and trademarked specialty drinks,'

said Mr. Hussam El-Nabulsi, General Manager AFS Hospitality Division (Brinker International Concepts).

OTB will hold a launch reception and a symbolic VIP ribbon cutting ceremony a day prior to the official launch to customers.

As part of its exciting menu, On the Border will offer a delightful mix of Mexican classics guaranteed to get food lovers mexicanised.

With an edgy new take on the traditional, OTB will feature appetizing meal options that boast some of the classics with an OTB twist - which include Fajitas, Chimichangas, Burritos a variety of seafood and steak dishes, to be accompanied by freshly made Margaritas, Liquados, Frescas, and finished off with fantastic desserts such as the Chocolate Turtle Empanada, and 'Dulce De Leche' cheesecake, just to name a few.

'The food blends some of the most rustic and flavourful ingredients, and offers healthy choices. We will also have both lunch and dinner menus available seven days a week. It's a great place to spend time with friends and family, and we believe that Dubai is going to love it,' said Khalil Matar, General Manager of the Dubai Festival City's branch.

As part of the agreement with Brinker international, AFS is preparing to open new branches in the UAE at Jumeirah Beach Residence, and in KSA at Red Sea Mall - Andalus area.

OTB was recently launched in Cairo Egypt at the City Star Mall, with additional plans to open units in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar.
